WebSealants are Teflon (PTFE) tape or thread sealing compounds, also called pipe dope. When assembling connections, they fill any voids between the mating thread crests and roots that leave a spiral leak path. Sealants also provide lubrication that makes metal thread installation more manageable, and they help prevent galling. WebThis waterproof seam tape instantly seals leaking tears and pinholes, stops rips from spreading, and acts as an abrasion-resistant shield on high-wear areas.
