Early response to dehydration
WebJan 7, 2024 · This system revealed a bi-phasic response to dehydration stress, namely, an early and a late response. During the early phase of dehydration, plants closed stomata to reduce water loss, which was induced by the accumulation of endogenous ABA (Nambara and Marion-Poll, 2005 ; Claeys and Inze, 2013 ). Webduring the stress responses remains unclear. Expression of ERD7 (Early Response to Dehydration 7) is induced in response to dehydration. Here, we show that ERD7 plays essential roles in both plant stress responses and development. In Arabidopsis, ERD7 protein accumulated under various stress conditions including exposure to low temperature.
