WebFeb 17, 2024 · If you hear yourself over the scanner but not the repeater, it sounds like you are not actually transmitting the Tone Squelch if I follow and understand what you are saying is happening. They scanner doesn’t need the Tone Squelch to pick up your transmit, it only needs the TS for the repeater. WebFeb 25, 2016 · In CHIRP, it's not clear on how to add that. Under Tone Mode, there's no settings for PL. Or is PL the same as ToneSQL, or just Tone? The repeater info I need to add has a receive frq of 171.5250, a transmit frq of 170.5750 and a transmit PL of 123. In this screenshot of what I have in CHIRP, I'm unsure of how to add the PL tone:

WebAug 11, 2024 · CHIRP is working correctly and as expected. When Tone Mode is set to Tone, only the Tone field is used to designate the TX CTCSS tone. There is no RX CTCSS tone because carrier squelch is used for RX. The ToneSql and Cross Mode fields are not used and any values in them are ignored by CHIRP when Tone Mode is set to Tone.

The current setup will give you the tx tone for repeater, and your receive will be carrier squelch (no filter, hear everything dependent on your squelch level).
