When the Upanishads say Brahman they are referring to 2 aspects of the One thing - aparaprakrti and paraprakrti. So the indivisible Brahman, for the sake of conversation, has 2 aspects. A higher and a lower nature. A formless illuminating aspect and then the matter principle, Maya or anatma.
