He also said Rustoleum #7777 would work. The 7777 is a little glossier, about 40-45%. The problem I found was the Rustoleum takes about 8 hours to dry, not nearly as quick as the ... WebFeb 18, 2011 · Gloss black is "showier" but very hard to keep looking glossy in real world conditions. Every speck of dirt shows up larger than life against a highly reflective surface. WebOct 11, 2024 · Wow, that sure is a nice shiny cowl tag for having been on a firewall for almost 50 years! Original 1970 cowl tags were covered in the black firewall paint. It dries very hard, has a semi-gloss appearance, does not absorb oil, and can be shot out of a bug bomb or a detail gun with no additives (catalysts, thinners, etc). Best of all, you can shoot directly over metal and/or primer.
